AHH!!! We're so close to the end of this scene! This scene's pretty short, just a little over a page in my storyboard thumbnails notebook (scene 1 was about 2 and a half pages). Scene 3 will be more of a transitional scene, just less than a page of storyboard thumbnails...but scene 4? Scene 4 is a fuckin' BEAST, at 10 pages of storyboard thumbnails. ^_^;; So that's gonna be a looong one.
We're still looking for Gray. I just want my cat home.
Last night was interesting. In our nightly searches for Gray, we've gotten pretty familiar with the other missing cat posters hanging around: one of which being a tortoiseshell little girl. Doing one of our laps around a local garden, we spotted a kitty peering out at us, and lo and behold, it was the little tortie. My mate and I snapped some quick photos, tried to tempt her over (to no avail), and dropped a pin, then grabbed the owners' info off the nearby missing cat poster for her, and let them know where she was. We stayed there, letting her watch us but not trying to chase the skittish little kitty, and her people showed up a few minutes later.
My mate chatted with them (since my German is not up to that) while they set up a humane trap and food for her. They told my mate that they'd only had the cat for a few weeks before she dashed out the door, that she'd been an outdoor cat before they got her. They said the neighbors had spotted her a few times in their yard, but that she'd avoided the trap before.
When I did my 6 PM walk/search for Gray tonight, the trap was still there, unsprung and empty.
This sucks. I've been pretty able to roll with the things that've gotten rough in and around this move. Problems with getting the cats' travel paperwork? Solved it. We were temporarily homeless and living out of the world's most depressing hotel (or at least Frankfurt's)? Found us a place and got it. But this? There's no best way forward. We can do everything right and still not find him. And it's fuckin' killing me.
