Working with kids while trans is hard. Transition is hard. Social transition is hard. I love kids, and I love teaching, but damn. I hate the "Are you a girl or a boy?" question, and I reaaally hate the fortunately rare kids who argue with me when I answer that I'm a boy. Like, we're in the Bay area, most kids know that people are who they say they are, but some of the really little ones, especially, don't have that filter.

But yeesh. "You don't sound like a boy," "You don't look like a boy," fuckin' suuuuucks.
