Awww, hell! So all of these, the full rendered image up top, the character turn arounds, and the concept sketches, were for a project at my animation school--we were to develop a setting and characters with a steampunk flavor--with the clarification that steampunk could be victorian era or cowboy era. I went with cowboy, because that's way more fun for me.

The main character is Steel, imported in from my Pokemon story. I had some idea of her having some sort of shapeshifting ability, or something, I don't super remember. She was native, I was thinking Lakota, and definitely experiencing a lot of prejudice against her. She was some sort of supernatural warrior...? I don't remember a fuck ton, and none of it was ever super hashed out.

Jane Steel's sidekick was Walker Graham, a very cheerful golden retriever himbo type who was just happy to be there and fight bad guys.

Steel's romantic partner was Elizabeth, a saloon girl in the local town.

An antagonistic force was Nero Remus, the town's sheriff. He'd work to keep Steel out of the town for whatever against supernatural prejudice ended up happening. It wasn't well developed, researched, or hashed out. Basically, I knew if I ever made this story happen I'd need to do hours and hours more of research to even come close to trying to tell it in a non racist way. I don't think I could have managed to not make it racist as shit on accident, anyway.

The primary antagonist was Macy Friedwald, another saloon girl that worked with Elizabeth. She would be seeking demonic power, I think through killing people. That power would ultimately cause her to become feral and voracious.

I think I had the idea that it would be a bit of a murder mystery, trying to figure out where the disappearances that Macy was causing had gone, and stopping, or attempting to stop, the demonic energies she was accruing.

But yeah! Steel and Elizabeth moved on to be characters in New Normal!
